butters just keeps gettin bigger,he so much bigger and heavier now than the old move bitch vid.he's 15" easy these days and thick he's gettin chunky in his old age. the other 2 buttis are his girlfriend the smaller one with the x pattern and the other is only 1 yr old and already 10-11" big.

@serbinator1 It?s a fact no flowers in the wild. Kok is to big at an early age and fish cant compensate for the off shape of its body. Ergo death in the wild. And no clown, red devils do not get huge kok like flowers. If I have a flowerhorn for grade A and a red devil grade A for 1 years the flower will have 2 times the kok of the red D. We are talking on average. Every fish is different but most will have way bigger than red D?s.

But there is one more thing... 8inch dovi (one V) killed a 12 inch butti. lol now if we are talking about Parachromis dovii that is the wolf cichlids yea it could happen. But unlikely if conditions were fair. Was the tank over 40 gal for these to large fish and was the tank a neutral tank with a divider so both fish have time to binned.

@serbinator1 Or did some mentally deficient person like you, take a butti put it inside a established dovi tank that was to small for the butti to move around and then sit back and watch. A true sparing tank is 30 gallons or bigger with only one side clear glass with the glass being one directional (fish cant see you). 8 vs 12 the tank for this fight should be no smaller than 40 gallons. The divider should be dark tint so fish cant see each other until the very end.

@serbinator1 Let me know I can help u make it. Lol put them in there 8 dovi vs 12 butti keep then in there fore 2 hr then we will see. And make sure they are both males. Not this female male crap lol. Butti will open a new eye socket on the dovi.. Dovis are killers and the large males with there teeth can do some real damage but dovis get less aggressive with age and size ( on average) but buttis get more aggressive and more vicious with size and age (on average).

@serbinator1 Dovis are ambush predators but buttis torpedo into the fish and hit the eyes. But most people would agree with you that dovis are kings of the cichlids world. Im parcel to buttis. In any case I think that a 10 year old breeder who is 40 years of age should not be so afraid of red snappers. Hay if JAWS was a red snapper instead of a great white would you have seen it. But the butti with the same defect on either side is not of less value. If the defect is even then you have a rear and valuable fish. Look at the flower horn 2 different breeds coming together and a little help from man to make a fish that clearly cant survive in the wild.

So yes it is a defect and that would be true for the other buttis in that tank because the defect is on one side only or is deferent on the other side but the one bitty in the middle with the same defect on both sides. Your theory is not true that fish is worth much more. Its rear and unique and very beautiful.

I own prize fish and I can tell you this common buttis are about 10 dollars in a store. with 10 buttis 9 of witch are common and one that is like that one. That one will be the one to be purchased first. Look at the lines and see that they are the same on both sides so you are the wrong one here. If lines are not even then I would agree with you but not in this case. A butti like that will be prized by its owner.

the big boy butters we've had for about 10 months.he now lives with 5 other buttikoferi 1 at 11",2 at 10"and 2 at 3" all is peacefull too,all our butti's except the babies were apparently killers with their previous owners.not now though they all school together like one happy family

anyone got an opinion? bought him as a cichlid x but as he's matured he looks midas to me.when juvi he was grey with stripes.i have a labiatus(red devil)and she seems shorter in length but very similar otherwise.never see citrinellus(midas) for sale here in perth australia only devils.
