@ ziozombie Hey man it doesn't matter wat camera u use. Even before dsrl's came about there were film slr's and technology wasn't as good as what we have now. It took a lot of skill to get correct exposures, composition and life into the picture. So if you feel like u're a better photographer by using a flash camera body then I think u've missed the point. Remember Rick's rules! - Use the shittiest camera on the market if Canon pays you to make it look great - Take a walk: even a beautiful location can look dull if you try hard - Look up sometimes. I bird might shit on your head. - Wear sunglasses, they help to expose and take better shots - A second is enough to compose the? picture. - Don't use bracketing or a polarizer to get detail in that white sky: with RAW you'll be fine - The "All rules are meant to be broken" rule CAN BE BROKEN

Your right. it does not matter what card you use. The 6.3 fps will be the same. Only the number of shots at one burst is affected very slightly. It will hardly be noticeable and who is going to be shooting forever and that top speed anyway. Not me.

Well the D90 has been fout or about a year now and also its video is just 720p. The D300S is worth a look, the D300 doesnt have video. The D300 is superior to the D90 and also has HD video at 720p. I'd still go for the 7D, which is right up to date and has 50% more mp if thats your thing..

Thats easy :) 7D. You have to look past the obvious feature too, like the megapixels and video. Pretty much the whole camera is uprated and many consider it a professional camera with a "subframe" (1.6x crop) sensor. Also bear in mind the D90 is aging now...

I suspect the 50D and the 7D share many controls. If cost isnt an issue and you want a Canon mid range camera then the 7D should be your choice because many of its features have been upgraded over the 50D. If you arent dead set on Canon then its worth looking at Nikon too... D90 is good, D300 is good too..

I had a 40D before the 50D so I got used to the controls. As far as I am concerned the menu system is pretty simple, and colour coded as are all Canon menus. button position/functions are easy to remember. There may be better newer mid range DSLRs out there now, so it might be worth having a look, especially if you'd like video... The 7D is a 1/3rd more expensive, but hugely spec'd..

Generally speaking, you should concentrate more on your lenses than on your camera. The type of lenses you choose / can afford to use, also dictate a lot of the type of photos you will be able to get. That said, pretty much any of the current Canon DSRL-bodies will give you fantastic results if you use it with a decent piece of glass. And, most importantly, you need to know HOW to take photographs in the first place :)

Thanks for the reply. In some of my first reviews, I found that scripting took too much time rehearsing the lines and extra takes to get it right. Using an auto cue to the side just looked like I wasn't looking at the camera and an autocue machine costs about two grand. Everything is off my head with some minor pointers of what I want to mention before I start.

Buy it (unless you already have!). I have had a 350D, 40D and a now have a 50D. its brilliant. Dont listen to anyone whining about sensor noise. All sensor will produce significant noise at ISO 3200 and above. Up to ISO 1600 noise control is more than adequate.

In the example given, SPOT metering on the 40D would work better when you can zoom all the way into the subject. Of course you can ZOOM in and use AE-lock too, then zoom back out to compose. Would be much better than trying to find an object with similar light levels. As for using AE-lock, it only works in P, Tv, Av or M modes.

You could use either in many situations, but, for example if you were doing a panorama and wanted a constant exposure across many pictures, the AE lock would be better than spot metering. With spot metering you have to get a reading each time, with AE lock you can have one setting over many pictures. Hope this helps

That button shows depth-of-field preview. Basically if you stop your lens down and if u press that button it gives u a preview of what you are gonna get in terms of depth-of-field. One thing about it though is that it will make the viewfinder darker. It is normal because less light is getting in.

I spent a good decade of my life in that scene and there are a lot of people who gave up many more years than I did without any payment to keep it alive. Its been going down like that in Flint for at least the past 20 years and, up until maybe 3-4 years ago (when some of the downtown shows went away due to building issues), Flint had one of the strongest scenes around Michigan. Blew Detroit out of the water. Grand Rapids isn't even on the fucking radar. You can think what you want about these guys or "Flint kids", but seriously, Flint has contributed a ton to the scene in Michigan. More than most people can even remotely say.

And I can tell you that they are not a bunch of "scene" kids from the suburbs or shit like that. Nothing could be further from the truth. I was doing shows and working in the music scene in Flint for over a decade and these guys were always in bands and around as long as I could remember struggling like everyone else. It just amazes me that as soon as someone gets a break everyone automatically makes assumptions and thinks they know the facts.

Yeah I would remove the UV filter. Regardless of what kind of filter, you'll still get the same effect when shooting right into the sunrise/sunset.
