Hey, i've got three questions. I used to have the SD870 IS but I lost it.. and I'm looking to buy another. 1. How much did you pay for this camera? 2. How much do you think it goes for used? 3. Does it record well at concerts? That's what I REALLY need... this is how well the 870 recorded: /watch?v=QWM5DsyesgM (as you see the sound is very nice and the bass does not distort the sound). Would the SD1100 record just as well or even better?

The macro mode works great for taking close up pictures and stuff, and I think a blurry back-ground makes the macro pics look really professional. It's really convenient that they're really easy to take also. Thanks for the comment!

The function is called Color Accent. Turn on the camera in camera mode. -Press the FUNC. SET key in the center of the circle. -Press to the right of the circle (picture of a lightning bolt) until the red cursor highlights the eyedropper with the letter A. -Press the FUNC. SET button again. You are now in the Color Accent mode. -Press the DISP. button. The screen will look like it is flashing and a small square will be in the center of the screen.

Actually the Canon SD790 IS is one of the best cameras ever made by canon. The only one I would recommend is the Canon Powershot SX20IS 20x optical 58 digital zoom. It;s a bit big ...but incredable.

Iam wonder if this camera is better to film with than taking pictures,since you have the HD video qulity? Anyone who have this experience? Haha, that's alot of extra weight. The two bodies with two lenses will do for almost everything, you don't need to carry all that crap at the same time. But probably he doesn't, it's just for show of. He's a good photagrapher though.

Incredible with the color ambiance & sound resonance all captured with thrilling results!!! Should I get it (I might after all, wished I had it for TinaTurner's Concert in London this month) and as fotr the design or color to shape, doesn't bother me... its handy in measutrements and I'd prefer that would-be snatch thief passed it coz it looks undesirable... who cares! On top of the zoom. There is a switch P or Auto. Swap to P for manual features. On your LCD screen, there is a dial, go to the focus option and press UP on the dial 2x. It should activate it. Then turn the dial left of right to focus.

The built-in mic picks up more volumn from the front approximately 45 degrees than other radius around the camcorder. I would get a digital recorder and a mic with either 35mm jack or usb connection and do separate audio recording. You can use video editing software like Sony Vegas Pro 8 to merge the audio with the video later on. With wind deduction mode turn on it's as I described it above, other than that it picks up quite some noise as the volume becomes louder.

There is no audio control for the HG10. You might want to look into the HG20. However, if audio control is an essential for you, you might as well grab a sibling or a friend to be your boomer (someone to hold a giant mic and record audio while you film).

VIXIA is just a name for this line of camcorder, there isn't anything different. People tend to leave the VIXIA out to shorten the name. The HG10 provide a pretty good manual control over the camera, ie. manual focusing, shutter speed, etc. It records the video as *.MTS file, which can only be read by Sony Vegas Pro 8. The later release of Premiere may support this file type. The newer model records it in QuickTime's *.MOV format, just like the Canon 5D MKII.

By slowing down your shutter speed you can accommodate for low light. However, this may result in ghosting. Most of the time it's not necessary to slow down the shutter, camera will adjust accordingly.

It's up to you, but for serious videographers, there's no substitute for a real video camera. There are so many settings you don't have on a still camera that are in the HVX. Plus, the HVX does 4:2:2 1920x1080

Also i've worked with the hvx and it's great but we used a red rock and it was a pain in the ass. haha i could live with never having to touch that again.

Actually, Taylor loves this camera. I think as a still camera it's great, but it really isn't for filmmakers. Besides the fact that is has no XLR input, which is a HUGE problem, it's not an HVX replacement. It's great for getting some really good cinematic shots with some really good looks, but it just doesn't work like a real HD camera. As a filmmaker and videographer, I can tell you that it's worth it to get the HVX over the 5D if you're doing video.

i feel like it seems you guys went in not wanting to like this camera. I get that it's not the best for filming but for literally a fraction of the cost of what it would be to get the hvx alone forget about lense and it's versatility because it is so small and ready to use I think it is the perfect camera for an independant filmmaker.

Com sinceridade não seja a ser uma diferença absurda... na verdade é bem possível que você, dependendo da sua intimidade com técnica e equipamentos fotográficos, nem perceba a diferença... A Sony é uma boa marca... eu só falei da Canon porque a tradição ótcia dela é melhor... Dê uma olhada também nas Panasonic... as lentes Leica que equipam a linha Lumix são muito boas também.

agradeceria se me respondesse) achei a camera digital sony w120 por 485 reis e acompnha um case um tripé e um cartão d 4gb...e a sony w130 achei por 550 reais que acompanha os mesmos itens, mas a diferença éo processsador d-range(alta velociddade bionz quee revela mais detalhes em sombras etc...)meggapixel que eu ñ me importo muiTO, E UMA[CONTINUA]

boa tarde,,, me ajudem!!! hauha bom, eu tinha uma câmera Sony S 750, que eu usava mais pra filmar meus shows e tal, enfim, vendi, emprestei a Sony w55 do meu cunhado e gente fiquei besta. A imagem é ótima, a memória interna tbm, mas indispensável o cartão. O que eu quero é o seguinte, na qualidade da filmagem da w 55 tem alguma outra câmera que tenha a mesma ou melhor capatção de imagem? obrigado !!!

Ela é a sequência sim da A460... entre ela e a A590, bom.... elas são bem diferentes em design e o preço também não é o mesmo. A A590 tem um processador melhor e é uma câmera mais avançada. A vantagem da A470 é justamente poder ter um câmera muito barata com um resultado legal. Eu fiquei mesmo impressionado, por exemplo, com o seu modo Macro, mas essa é uma feature muito específica. De uma maneira geral, eu ficaria com a A590. você já viu o vídeo dela? Abs
