I first fell in love with this piece in 1978 when I was at the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum in D.C. They used to play this piece while the auditorium filled up with people before they showed the movie, "To Fly." I have spent decades looking for this exact version of Pachelbel's canon. I love the quiet plucking of strings in the background. I'd love to know who performed this particular version. If anyone knows, please post.

very helpful. I take alot of photos of fairly large trucks down here in Australia and im forever walking backwards to get the shots but i dont want to lose the truck in the background. Ah well, Canon would probably make a lame excuse for the absence of the lens hood. Like it covers such a wide angle, it creates some serious vignetting. :D

With NiMH rechargeable AA's, my camera hasn't matched Canon's 600 shots per charge claim...but it isn't half bad at all; I'm averaging 300-350 shots per charge (which is on par with typical Li-Ion brick batteries). Just don't use alkaline AA's in it, they'll drain extremely fast.

It's hard to get a shallow depoth of field on a non-DSLR. Your best bet is to zoom the lens in a lot and make sure your subject is close.

@jqwalls For good quality in low light, you'll need a DSLR, but they can't focus as close as a G10 / G11 without fitting a macro lens. So it depoends how much you want to spend. a DSLR with a macro lens would be perfect, but it'll cost a lot more than a G10 / G11. PS - again whatever you buy, please do it through one of the partner stores at cameralabs . com!

I have this camera for about 1.5 years now and i am averaging 800-900 shots per charge with the screen on!! i have taken almost 10000 pictures with this camera and the only thing that annoys me is that in low light is not so good and the fps speed is quite slow for such a camera!!!!

I bought one couple of months ago . I'm quite satisfied with it . In short lenses it is very good , but when you try to zoom a bit , you start losing a lot of quality . The good point : the definition you can get using the macro mode is impressive . And as well , the color contrast with macro reachs it's best ..

I understand that because of the lack of RAW this would be a factor but as both are very similiar in features and that's what is important to me. hey mike, i've already gotten the canon sx 20 is and it's simply amazing. It has covered all of my needs which are basicaly and excellent macro and a good resolution on panoramic views. i haven't stoped playing with the zoom feature plus the different modes this camera has. Hope this helps a bit or if u can be a bit more specific on your doubts i'll be glad to help you.

Hey, he hasn't answered to me yet and i'm starting to doubt if he will haha anyways i've decided to go for the PowerShot SX20IS. I'm not sure wether it is the right decision or not but as soon as i test it i could let u know. I've used the g10 because a friend has it, but still i wanted to try the sx20 cause of different reasons. I'll tell u how good or bad it was. Cheers mate.

I've finally got my parents to get me the Nikon D3000 for my B'day, so I've been searching on the internet for tutorials and stuff because I don't have a clue what Aperture or anything else. @Trazor123 the camera is a good start but not the lens. The lens does not let enough light in thus why i recommend a 35 1.8 or spending a little bit of money to pick up a faster lens like a sigma 18-50 for 420 bucks. Well worth it when just starting out.

@sexualburgerking There are a few options, you can look for a used nikon 70-2000 vr 1 which would be a little over 1,000. The sigma wouldnt be a bad way to start but if you can stretch it and find a vr1 id go with that. There is also the nikon 80-200 2.8 which sells new for around 900. It is a slower focusing lens but still a great lens. I hope this helps.

Hey man... I have a question for you. I bought a D300s a few months ago, and I am trying to get a lot more serious with photography. Right now my only telephoto lens is the ultra-cheap 70-200mm lens that I had with my D40, so I was planning on getting the Nikon 70-300mm VR II lens. HOWEVER, now I am thinking of getting the SIGMA 70-200 f2.8. There's no way I can afford the Nikon f2.8 for a very long time. What do you think?

@wgtrainer12 A backup battery is always a good idea if you plan to use the phone ALOT in video mode. You can get batteries for it online and at best buy for pretty cheap prob around 30 bucks or so. They are small so you can fit an extra in a case with the camera no prob!

Would a back up battery be necessary or is one Lithium ion Battery enough? Also is battery replacement easily available or over time we be harder to replace. @Yourveryking They are basically the same exact camera other than the 940 does not have the view finder and the screen is a bit bigger due to it, and it has 4x zoom instead of 3x. Thats basically it but its over 100 bucks more. So in my book you save the money and spend it on a better memory card! ;)

@Yourveryking Other then the 940 having a 2.7inch screen and no optical viewfinder there the exact same camera. The 940 took out the regular eye piece and with that gone they get a 2.7inch LCS vs a 2.5inch. So is .2inches worth an extra 30 bucks or so?? If so then go for the 940 you will also get a 4x zoom vs a 3x one the 780.

@conexionz The 1400 does not have an eye piece so the screen is 2.7vs2.5 inch. The 1400 has a few more built in shooting modes, other than that exactly the same...same sensor, same zoom, same lens. so unless you need some extra shooting save the money and get the 780.

@TheKhanhster As for video the SD780 does a better job with its HD since it has a true sensor in it..you wont see the jiggles when you move it around like you will in the Zi8. However teh Zi8 has a mic port if you plan to mic your subjects! But over all I also was looking at the Zi8s video performance and I think the 780 is a better over all...again you get the camera as well...

@TheKhanhster You do not loose the resolution when you convert to another file format unless you choose to lower the output resolution. With that said I was doing the same research when I made my decision. I would pick the Canon based on the very similar price point but you also get a very very nice digital camera as well...with the flip your just getting a video cam! ;) Hope this helps

All of this stuff is REALLY EASY and I'm not a tech genius: Mac- you just plug it in and it recognizes it immediately. The good thing about hooking it up to a is it doesnt install all of the annoying "memeo auto sync" software which is really annoying. Pc- just as easy but it installs the annoying software

@r31ncarnat3d That's true but the 50D also has AF Micro-adjustment which in the long run makes it a better overall performer because it allows focus to be fine-tuned for twenty different lenses, negating issues with back- or front-focusing as well as Lens Peripheral Illumination Correction (also known as vignetting correction; vignetting is shading in the corners of an image). So, unless you use a split image viewfinder the 50D will constantly deliver more in focus images.

Try to use your hands to give some strength on certain parts of your presentation, but not as often as you do now. Isn´t there some kind of automatic preset, where you get what you see? That in the LCD of the camera you see the same light, whitebalance and colours, that you see woth your eye? I always have the problem of getting the right picture. And in the computer the picutre looks different than in the LCD.

Not all CI systems are created equally, so if you can't get the chips on the cartridges to be recognized, I would contact the vendor. Our systems include auto resetting chips and this has not been an issue with our systems (that we have seen). If those chips are not making contact in the right spot on the printer, there is nothing you can do. I hate the fact all the printer manufacturers use chips to deter refilling and clones. Sneaky stuff - it really is an adversarial relationship.

If the waste ink pad is actually full of ink, it might need replacing - otherwise ink can get all over components inside the printer and cause it not to function. This possibility is remote, however kits are sold to bypass the waste ink collection system to an external tank ($15-$20) or you can just buy a new waste ink pad. Personally, I would just skip replacing the pad. If the printer dies, so be it. Get another one - hardware is cheap, it's the INK that will kill you.

I own them and they still don't work well. They are getting better with firmware updates and are pretty good if you're within 15 feet and using them to fill in bright sun but they over-expose everything in darker situations. (The build quality is awful. I've broken 3 feet in 4 months doing pretty basic stuff. FYI, I've never broken the foot off of anything else.) That said, the ability to high-speed-sync is addictive so I'm still using them. I keep Cactus around for the inevitable PWiz fail.

This appears to be improper operation. Assuming that you are a USA resident, please send them into service for a full diagnostic check. They will fix, tune, upgrade to V5.0 and whatever else might be needed to get you the operation they can achieve which is quite amazing. An AC5 will accompany your FlexTT5 on return. The AC5 is really not necessary for normal use inside about 50ft or more.

Nice if it worked. We have tt1 and flex 5 on a 580 and get less than 10ft range with ETTL. Phoned PW who just said they were aware of the fact the new PW's don't work well with some Canon flash units. They did say we "might" get more range if we put a sock over our flash units.

Now i know that i'm probably gonna be slaughtert for saying this, but chose my Alpha 350, as my first Dslr, because of the in-house steady shot, witch makes the lenses cheaper. camera doesnt matter really, get a good lens. a good 50mm for portraits, a 100mm for macro and for sports... well that totally matters on the kind of sports, is it far away or close up fast or slow? check out dpreview for more camera reviews

it's really a personal preference between nikon and canon. More important than the bodies are the lenses you get. If I were you I would save up a bit more and get a nikon d90. Huge difference, the nikon d60 doesn't have AF capabilities in body so certain lenses won't autofocus. That's my opinion, dombower might have different advice and he's more experienced than me so take his.
