With the Nord, it's not an out of the box love and fascination, but rather a slow process of discovering what the synth can do and enjoying it over a long period of time; as for the price, checkout ebay, I am sure you'll be able to find sth below 1k (you can consider the mark 1 and 2 which are probably cheaper and the difference in functionality isn't critical - the rack version can also be a cheaper solution)

the new Tamiya Matilda has been drawing raves. Dragon has some new releases, but m many are more of the same old stuff- another (limited edition) Sd Kfz 250 with a cannon. I forgot which one, but it's just the Sd. Kfz. 250/10 w. 3.7 cm PaK, Sd. Kfz. 250/11 le SPW with Panzerbuchse 41, etc with a different gun. They released another F1 Flammpanzer and another 8 ton halftrack as if there aren't enough of those represented. there are so many great vehicles ignored that would make great models!

You're right, a lot of Tamiya kits tend to be overrated and massively overpriced. The only really good thing about Tamiya kits is that they're easy to build but lately the Chinese manufacturers are catching up in terms of fit and quality. For detail and in-box value, I still believe DML can't be beat.

the jagdtiger is new tooling. i liked the option with tracks as both individual link and one piece types. the one piece jobs are a softer plastic than the stuff the older kits have. those hard tracks i replace with Fruilmodel metal tracks. I did an old Soviet SU 122 anti tank tracks and those Fruils really set it off, the way they hang between the rollers. i can never get the bends out of those old hard plastic one piece tracks either. a metal barrel would have made the Jagdtiger kit perfect!

i own an old Tamiya Matilda kits. i hate the hard plastic one piece tracks the old kits had. above i mention the Jagdtiger kit, it IS a nice!. i haven't nit-picked it over for accuracy, but then i'm not a hard core rivet counter. if the same vehicle or subject is offered by all the "good" companies, Tamiya wouldn't be my first pick. i recall reading someone heading Tamiya had passed away and mgmt had changed. They drifted for a time losing their path but have now refocused. time will tell.

Among the hardcore military modelers, especially WWII vintage stuff, Tamiya is not first choice. They repackaged and resold old kits for years and never corrected them. Their Stuart tank kit is so wrong it should be a crime to sell it. The FAMO kit is still considered one of the best kits ever. The market is changing and dollar for dollar Tamiya isn't giving what the other mfgs are in their kits. Check out an armor modeling site like Armorama and see for yourself whose kits ate most popular.

Recently I bought Tamiya's new Jagdtiger model and also bought Dragon's newest Jagdtiger. The Tamiya kit was almost $20 more. The only plus with it was it had both individual link tracks and rubber band tracks. The Dragon kit came with a metal barrel, photoetch, individual link tracks, and more options to build it as. This is the norm. Dragon/DMl, Trumpeter, Tristar, AFV Club, Bronco, and the newer Italeri kits are my favs. Tamiya, not so much. Some Tamiya kits like the FAMO are still top notch.

it just varies, I personally don't build armor so I can't comment on that but I build cars and I find that Tamiya does better then many other companies in that category. Plus there are companies that dont have the certain model produced so you can't always stick with the same company. Either way, I find that tamiya mainly produce cars/bikes and armor is to a lesser extent.

yes the japs are good modelers , there are good modelers every where, but the best models happen to be in china, tamiya is a crap japanese company that adds 20 or more dollars USD to a old re issued kit just for adding 3 or 4 photo etched parts, dragon and trumpeter how ever have better modling techniques such as slide molding, their prices in america are better than tamiyas, for the same price dragon includes better extras and details

Acrylics you can clean out by spraying a thorough amount of "Isopropylalcohol" with a drop of "washing up liquid" added, then spray pure distilled water (twice) secondly.....Oil based enamels and such you can clean out by spraying cellulose thinner....If you plan to take a break (i.e vacation) you should use method 2 followed by method 1...Leave tool to dry thoroughly!!! Its dead easy to do. If your doing a white wash on your model AFV and need to make it looked worn,what you do is paint your base coat followed by a coat of future or gloss to protect your paint.then you spray hairspary all over the model.let dry and add your white wash all over you model.let the white dry for and hour or so,then take a stiff brush and some warm water and start to scrub off some of the white paint revealing some of the base coat. If you are afraid that upon assembling the body kit you might paint over parts you don't want to paint, you might want to paint them individually. You could also use tape to cover areas that you don't want to be painted. Personally, I paint the body once the overall shape has been formed(the main body kit and tracks, excluding minor details such as axes or extra tracks to be fit onto the body kit). Then after painting the minor parts, i fix them all together before adding the weathered effect.

Thanks very much for uploading this, however I feel that the German captured tanks and AFVs would have been better cared for than this rust bucket. They didnt have much oil towards the end of the war, they were very good at repairs and still kept equipmment serviceable- rust is a chargeable offense and a soldiers daily routine to keep his equipment operational, even if hes on the withdrawal.. please no rust unless its knocked out and fire ridden hull rusting on the field. Ha Ha :)

By the way, what happened to your thumb that looks like it hurt haha, I found when it gets to near the top of your nail you can prick it with a tiny pin and it bleeds out and completely gets rid of the color - feels good doesn't hurt at all. El término aggro lo inventó la prensa norteamericana para catalogar a las bandas que a mediados de los noventa estaban reciclando los sonidos del rock (Faith No More, RATM, Helmet y Tool) y algunas bandas de metal (Sepultura y Pantera), bandas como Korn, Deftones, Snot (se acuerdan de esa wea pendejos?) o Downset. De ahí que los possers de siempre, con ganas de clasificar todo, inventaron que se trataba de un estilo y ustedes le copiaron la moda.

@technicolorboy I was just playing a game today where I had gotten two care packages. One had a Counter UAV, the other a Sentry Gun. I died while trying to pick it up, but fortunately my teammates were able to prevent them from going into enemy hands. I told them to pick 'em up so the enemy can't. They did, but at least 3 allies just walked by the Counter UAV and let it sit there. Why? Because they viewed it as worthless. How sad. I eventually had to make my way back and pick it up myself.

As to the M.bison name change this was odd but .With SF1 the boxer was called mike.Cos of Capcom USA did not want the name Mike Bison as it sounds to much like Mike Tyson due to this as we all know the states love to sue yer using names/ect in any productions with out any rights and other legal stuff Capcom USA + Europe had the name change for all sf2/3/4 ect
