We rode this last weekend and got stuck on it! They said we came in too fast and we had to lie there on our backs for a good 20mins before we got to get off the thing. They had to come around and manually release the locks. At least they were nice enough to give us water since it was so hot that day.

@Capius1272 You are correct that there are few Zuiko lens reviews out there. I have the 150mm lens and I can honestly tell you that it is one of the sharpest lenses out there. It is great for portraits, sports and wild life. Even macro if you put an extension tube on it! Obviously not a true macro, but it gives you a working distance of about 70 cm and it really compresses the image. Sharp even at f2.0! It isn't large, very easily hand held just a joy to work with. One of my favourites!

I can't agree with you. You mean angle of view, but when you compare focal length you must compare lenses with this same mm range. for example, the 50mm in N,C and O, are the same lens, but angle of view is diffrent it's depend on image sensor size. You can't belive in marketing slogans, i.e. that ZD 150mm f2 is the same as 300mm f2 in full frame. It's like you shoot with 150mm lens on 35mm camera, and then make crop half on that. I hope I explane clear. (sorry I'm not so good in English;)

Sure you can. Pentax K mount lenses, Nikon F mount lenses, Olympus OM mount lenses can all be used (albeit completely manual) via adapters on fourthirds bodies. There are a lot of other mounts possible to use, the only mount really impossible to use is Canon EOS.

Why is it called the world's widest lens? On 4/3s it gives you the same as 14mm, but the sigma 12-24 covers 35mm or FF, so it gives a wider angle of view, making it a wider lens. The zuiko has a wider marking but so does the lens on my P&S, it's only about 5mm. I think that the marketing people at zuiko are taking some liberties by calling it the widest.

Good choice. We did a group test of the D300, Alpha 700 and Olympus E3 recently (the Canon 40D is not in the same price bracket) and the D300 comfortably won, though they're all excellent and have their own special qualities.

I found this review very informative and thank you for posting it. I have been all over the place deciding what camera to buy the 40D, D300 or the Alfa 700. After watching yuor reviews on all three cameras i have decided to go with the D300 mainly down to 1)live view mode 2)the 51 point focus 3)the 12Mp 4)HDMI out need i go on. I can't take anything away from the other two and think that it is down to the user to decide what is best for them! enjoy it what ever you get :)

Excellent and thorough review. I've been looking for something like this for my mom this Christmas as she currently pays $100/mo for cable when she only watches a small handful of shows. 9 times out of 10 her TV isn't even turned on. Lots of money gone to waste. With this, I can download all of her desired shows, place them on a USB drive and she can stream them through this player. I was initially going to get her a DiVX enabled DVD player with USB, but this is clearly the better route!

To fix the dock sliding in and out you can jam a small piece of folded paper in there. Totally fixes it. Sound quality is a bit weak, so if you want to use it for music look elsewhere. Needs a firmware update to fix a few bugs: - If I plug in the iPhone in Silent mode a message on the iphone pops up saying 'device does not support iphone' - Cannot delete stock photos from internal memory - Cannot adjust alarm brightness level Hopefully someone somewhere will release some custom firmware :)

i dunno, your better saving your money now and going for a canon 1000d or maybe a 550 if u fancy saving more. the lack of movie mode and high raw processing times along with some what high noise at 800+ iso makes this camera a little bit old now.

I have this camera, and being somewhat new to photography, I was wondering if you could help me with a query. I have noticed that the exposures take quite a long time. Even with the shutter speed being capable of up to 1/4000, the camera rarely goes beyond 1/100 indoors in normal lighting, and 1/300 outdoors on a bright day. Would you consider this to be normal for this camera, or some sort of issue to adress, because as I see it, it is not performing as it should.

Just picked up my A200 with 18-70mm from Argos of all places at just £259.99. Had to drive 60 miles for it though... but hey, superb in every way. Low light performance is VERY impressive!!

I liked the video. Thank you for the tips. You had one bad example, though. The example used for the fill flash tip of the statue on the beach. You said you used fill flash because the light was coming from behind the statue. However, you can see from the people on the beach and the shadows they cast that the sun was behind you to the left, not behind the statue.

Hi Steve Just viewed the image comparison of the GF1 and the M9. As you state in the review it is to be expected that the M9 is better, however if I had just spent $7000 on a Leica, quite frankly I would be quite disappointed. Put a quality lens on the GF1 and the M9 would battle. I was myself looking at a Leica M9, however after viewing it image quality I have now changed my mine. anyway love your reviews. Cheers Hanz

Well what i hear from the dealer is LX3 is more to beginner and GF1 is more to professional but i would like to prefer GF1 because it just a matter of time and experience to handle the GF1. you can use GF1 to master your photography skill too..Imagine if you buy LX3 and once you master it you may need to waste money on buying a new cam again..it will be a waste because money can be use for lens

Steve thanks for sharing GF1 review. I am looking for a portable yet able to take good quality photos. I am pondering over LX3 vs GF1. LX3 is smaller, more portable but lack of zoom capability. Whereas, GF1 has better zoom but not sure about its weight and size. Please advise.

I have the X1 on pre-order, and looking at this one, and they are not identical cameras obviosly, but they are gonna have some overlapping functions I havent pulled the trigger on this one cause of the X1, witch will no doubtedly take better pictures and be a little simpler then a system camera... BUT this one does video as the X1 does not... so what do you think? should i pull the trigger on this one? lol

Leica cameras have always been expensive. Leica is a much much smaller company that Panasonic, Canon or Nikon. They do not have the sales volume and their cameras are hand made. Making one M9 takes a huge amount of work, and the M9 and X1 are "made in Germany" cameras. The lens quality is phenomenal and the X1 has one of their best lenses attached. It is also simple and not filled with complicated menus and buttons. It will be a much better built camera, and have amazing image quality.

Or is the use of a "pastepot" the problem here? Digitizing books makes them accessible to more people. This is a good thing. This sounds like a great idea in theory, but in reality it is a way to replace hard copy books with a "computer book". Once this system is in place, and hard copy books are at a minimum, sensorship and control of knowlege will ensue along with a history of the books a person reads!
