yup, especially if you find hard seeing through the viewfinder even if you max out the diopter thing... Lv also enables more radical compositions. the dusadvantage however is that Lv eats battery power like a gas-guzzling sportscar. lol better have a back up battery...

Does anyone know, if the 450D has a Date stamp option that will appear on the corner of each photo when printed. I know it embeds it in the file, but I want it on the photo itself. Thanks

Hi Monkey ! I got the EOS 450D and i tested it. I leaved the Objective cab on my camera and the auto ISO went up to 800 ! So i aint got any problems with that.

hi, can anyone help me: on canons website it says the 450d has an auto-iso of 100-400, but the 1000d has 100-800. i know on both u can manually go higher but surely thats a big problem with the 450d for it not to go automatically to 800?? also whats the auto ISO of the d3000. thhhhaaaankkks

It sort of makes a dry scraping noise, its just a crappy mechanism. Try an expensive lens out and you'll feel the difference.

you have to get into custom function (C. Fn) to do some setting first. Going to Custom Function (C. Fn) select Function 8 (auto focus) and turn on the mode by choosing one of them 1. is the quick mode which will do the same thing he showed at 3:50. Choosing 2 will do what he showed after 6:30

Someone help please? I'm trying to copy what he does at 3:50 but i'm encountering problems. 1. I dont have the two 'squares' that he has on the live view,only one,why is this? 2. he says to press the AE AF button in the top right of the body, I press the AE button and nothing happens? As for the AF button,the only one i can find is on the lens itself,which is switched on? This is frustrating as it stays out of focus, please help cameralabs?

OKay. So pros, Please tell me. I'm gonna buy Canon eos 450D or 1000D. I know the camera has a putton where it takes a foto (So I know almost nothing about cameras :) My hands are big compared to normal guy. So which do u suggest, I can afford to both of them, but which would be better in ur opinion? ( is 450D slower in some way, or worse in another way than 1000D ? ) :) Looks really cool this cam. Just hard to decide should I buy it :P

You should get Rebel XSi because it is smaller but just as good as a profesional camera. Now the D40 is more of Nikon's lower end SLR's so hope that helps!

True. But the problem is, with a greycard, you have technical perfect picture's. The magic of a photo is the color's temperature. Not every photo needs to look like an industrial commercial photo without the beautiful colors..

hi, ok, here are my thoughts : i cant say this enaugh. there is no camera thats the best. the most important thing is that it fits your hand perfect. try out both cameras. for me 450d was the choice. it fits my hand perfectly, and some of my mates have canon. so we can exchange lenses etc. so try both out. if you get the 2 olympus lenses and the E520 at the same price as 450d. i would go for olympus.. :P

hi mate ^^ great picture you took! but i have a question that confuses me.. i want to get my first DSLR and i want to be sure i pick up the best. So far i have thos options. Canon EOS 450D with EF 18-55mm IS lenses and Olympus E520 with 2 lenses 1.EZ-1442 Zuiko Digital 14-42mm 2. the image quality is more up to you, than the camera itself. the difference between those cameras isnt that much. jsut a few things like a couple of more megapixles,the lcd size, fps shooting. i would recommend the 450d. if you want to have movie feature. then go for 500d. but in image quality, i bet you cant see much difference between these camereas, if they have the same lens attached. its all what you do, and how you process your pictures.

ich tendiere momentan auch eher zur 450D, vor allem auch wegen dem günstigeren preis. die HD aufnahmefunktion ist eh ein witz bei 1920x1080 pixel nur 20 fps möglich. für HD video sollte man lieber zu einem camcorder greifen, wie zum beispiel canon hf100, aktuell auch mein favorit ;-)

I could recommend some lenses, but you should be more specific for what purpose you need it. If you want to replace the kit lens, have an unlimited budget, like to use polarizer filters and think about to upgrade to a full frame body in the future, you should consider the 17-44mm f/4L USM, even it would not have a IS (wich you dont really need). If it has to be IS and full frame is not an option, consider EF-S 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS USM or the very bright EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM
