I love all three of these cars. It would be almost impossible for me to decide, although I'd have to say it would probably come down to a decision between the RS4 and M3. I love the BMW styling and color options, but the Audi interior is just... insanely nice. I've also seen RS4's beat M3s, so they're pretty even.

To have the same performance in a much heavier package means compensating with tons of technology AND bigger powerplants and bigger everything really. Ok I'm a big BMW fan I think it's a mindblowing car but it costs twice as much as the standard m3 and I think it's completely overprieced. I think modifying your standard m3 with aftermarket parts would make it probably even faster and better and it would be cheaper as well.

I use to have a 335i back in 2007 and it was a fun ride for sure. Those turbos are awesome. Now I have the 2010 BMW M3 sedan and it's music to my ears. The M has been compared to with just about every car including the bid daddy that cost $2,000,000.00 dollars. 1001 HP vs 414 to 420 is like me comparing the earth to the sun. 8 cyl to 16 cyl. And the M doesn't have 4 radiators either. The BMW hands down wins in this class no matter who you ask. Look anywhere you'd like.

For the Price of an M3, I could get a used C6 ZO6 with less than 5K on the clock and still have as much if not more powertrain warranty remaining. I could also go with a new C6 Grand Sport, but I doubt I would get an M3. Luxury is nice when I'm sitting at home behind a 65" flat screen, but a car has wheels for a reason. I want to move and move quickly without needing high rpms to feel it especially travelling a short distance.

To those that don't understand class let me demonstrate a little analogy. Think of these two as class on an airplane. BMW would represent First Class and Mustang would be Economy class(mustang is anything but economical). You will get to the same destination at the same time with both classes but first class just does it better and is more enjoyable (BMW).

@teflond0n Ah again an extremist. You guys are fun. The GTR breaks all the time? The 2009 did have issues with the tranny and LC1. From 2010 onwards - no issues. The car is 400+ kg heavier than any of the porsches. It is 50K-150K cheaper than the porsches you mention below. Only the GT2&RS is faster. Add a P800 kit for 20K to a 80K GTR & everything including your RS will be in my dust. Haters - the GTR is a great car and helpd Porsche to improve your line up. You should thank Nissan.

@boang007 ummm... a gt2 is basically a gt3 + twin turbos and better gear. its less of a 911 turbo minus the AWD. some say the gt3 handles better because it is a little bit lighter than the gt2 and having less power to contend with makes it slightly easier to control. the irrefutable fact is, the 911 GT2 (997) is porsche's fastest car to date, with the soon-to-be-released GT2 RS. regardless of price, porsches are hands down better cars than the GTR. and the GT2 destroys the GTR in every way.

O, on a cold track, a 500hp 4WD car with paddle shifting and lot of electronics gizmos is 0.3s faster than a 435hp RWD car with no electronics and a classic gearbox......well, I don't see the revolution.....but maybe after 10 or 15 laps, when GTR brakes are dead, thanks to its huge weight, the laptime will not be the same.....

This supposedly textbook style doesn't make any sense because once your arms cross or make the "X" you can't correct any more than that without having to uncross. That's waisted movement. Plus anyone who's into sports knows that you don't shot or throw with 2 hands because one arm or hand is always a bit stronger then the other so one is always over compensating. Having 1 arm on the wheel with one on the shift gives qicker response.

Hooray! Someone who actually speaks some truth and knows there are far more environmentally damaging things in the Prius than its CO2 output (which plants breath and turn into oxygen). Basically, if you want to save fuel and the environment drive a smart or a Peugeot 106 1.5D, or any fuel efficient old diesel - Priuses are for yuppie, think they know everything when they don't, hypocrites!

It is obvious, looking at some of the Prius loving excuses on here, that some people haven't watched the whole video or taken in certain parts - especially the bit about how environmentally damaging the Prius is to manufacture and then dispose of after its past its sell by date - next to a normal car OR EVEN something like an M3.

well, if you listen closely. he said the prius was to be driven as fast as possible. thats why is only got 17mpg, but the bmw has 400+ hp, it didnt break a sweat keeping up with the prius, i beleive if the prius was driven normaly, it would have beaten the bmw.

i know top gear is more of an entertainment program, but they got it spot on here, what they showed is that if you have a car , and drive it at high revs you use more fuel. the prius would have been going at super high revs(5k RPM+) as its on a track, but the M3 would probably only need to rev to 3-4k RPM to keep up, thus using less fuel. Simple, more revs more fuel
