Not the magazines, but the people 5 stories up, behind a desk and in front of a monitor getting paid handsomely to touch up images for a large company---surely that person is having fun doing what they do best. In fact, many of the stories you see are spawned directly from edited images, not vice versa.

@maggieXbarnes you select the eye in question with lasso or pen, whatever you want. then click the little ball with the black and white sides in the layer box and find hue/saturation. click. then mess with the saturation to make the eyes look brighter. works best with green/blue eyes. hope i helped!!!

This is a fabulous lesson. I really enjoyed the way you presented the information. I kind-of understood how the 3 different lighting styles worked before but now I really get it and I can't wait to get home and play! Great job also going over the pros & cons between studio strobes and speedlights. Speed lights are better for me as a beginner with no set studio. Thanks again!

good video and you explained the principles very well and introduced some new lighting concepts that most people don't get into in videos like this. i did feel like the photos would have looked better with an orange or amber gel over the light though, the lighting seems a bit harsh. thanks for the video!

there is no flash, whats attached to the camera is the wireless commander. it basically activates the strobelights on click. the flash you see are the strobelights initiated. setups are on reflects. most occasion, on 200 ISO, we use 1/200, f./6.3, and a prime lens is preferable (35mm). play with the aperture till satisfied.

There is no flash on the camera, that's the radio trigger unit that fires the other strobes. The only fill light is that from the main light bouncing from the reflector. For more info / questions please visit the website. Thanks!

@mcdesign2401 He's basically saying you need to keep the shutter open long enough for the ambient light to reach your sensor. Then he says you have to keep the camera still. If you have the shutter open for 2 seconds, all the light that is in front of the camera will reach the sensor. And if you are taking a long picture and the camera get moved at all, that light will reach the sensor differently.

Hi, very helpful tutorials you've got! But do you have any tips of taking good landscape pictures? When I take pictures of the sky together with the landscape, the sky becomes too light (like aqua blue) and the trees too dark. Any tips to how to make the sky bluer and the trees greener? @azskull You always want to have your ISO speed as low as possible, especially when you're doing night photography where image noise can become much more of an issue. Anything below 400 seems to work out fine, unless you like grainy shots (some people do, depending on what you're trying to achieve) in that case, higher ISO speeds will suffice. Remember, faster ISO speed also means you can shoot with faster shutter speeds, so its really up to you to experiment and see what you like.

Help!!! I just bought a battery grip for my Canon T2i. I have two batteries. One is the Canon OEM Lithium Battery that comes with the camera. And another one is a different brand. The Canon battery has 7.2V and the other one is 7.4V. Do you think these two batteries could come together in the grip? Will it not damage my camera? I asked this because one of amazon customer said he bought a battery that's 7.4V and it's giving him wrong battery life bars in the cameras LCD.

I have a question. I'm using a photo match of an old house. I've modelled the house, but I don't know how to model the 'open door' on the house as it is in a different perspective. @courage713 Sketchup definitely has its limitations. Any somewhat organic shapes freeze it up. It can't draw circles, only many-sided polygons. Since it's so user-friendly, it's limited in the tools you can use, and so if you want to make helices or any 3-d organic shapes (like an airplane fuselage) it can be extremely difficult, and by the time it's done it usually goes to slow to continue.

Tech gets better by the second so if you buy cheap you just threw away 40% to 60 % of your money to get half the quality & more hassle. Thanks for the video, but I've got an idea to share because the resulting picture and video are more important than the light itself, right? Instead of showing the lights, which won't be seen in the videos we make, shouldn't you show the subject. For instance, "This is Mark with a halogen pointed at him... This is Mark with a softbox on either side." Etc... Please share what type of lighting you were using to make this video! Maybe I just haven't found the proper tutorial yet.

I love how it doens't just show a bunch of setups. Nope, you have to read and _understand_ the theory it teaches, then you can come up with your own setups based on knowledge about light.
