If you want to invest in the same problem that the company isn't correcting only because you don't have one, feel free to. What I'm saying is, do your research. I'm telling you as an experienced user, owner who invested in the previous gen (XF is no diff), not worth it. Keep in mind I own more Yamaha products than you and I'm saying this.

@4fyussef very true well said its the rider that makes the bike fast. have most of us not done track days and left riders on the latest bikes? yes the new bikes are easy to ride better brakes balance power and wont bite ass hard when you make a mistake. so if your quick on an old bike your gona get the most out a new one.but if your slow a new bikes gona make you a bit quicker but never fast its practice practice more time in the saddle

In the last few days i've set on 4 japanese 1000cc bikes. Kawasaki has the most UNcomfortable seating position for me. Honda was nice but small. R1 was very nice and i also liked the feeling of GSX-1000R. But i would have to say that yamaha R1 was the most comfortable for me. R6 was small because my knees were higher then the gas tank lines for the knees. I'm about 6'3''.

I have the SG 1200-S and the tone is perfect for classic rock, hard rock and fusion. Take a look on my video. (made for a contest). Its much better than Gibson Les Paul in my opinion, becouse this guitar have overdrive/distortion tones very similar a Gibson Les Paul Standard, but the clean tones is much more creammy and smooth. sorry peterrosenqvist but ive owned two Yamaha's and guess waht one of the necks snapped off after six months while and i had never used it in a concert since it was my first. then the second guitar i got had a headstock that broke off when i put 12 gauge strings on it instead of the 9 gauge strings that were on it. now i have a 64 reissue Gibson SG and its been perfect for two years, no problems on it and its been through hell

@Flipout360 Trust me, it takes a lil more than the "right frame of mind" to be going weeks and weeks together. I have a similar bike like yours, a local made one and I have done a part of the Himalayas with it. if you've ever heard of Leh,Ladakh in the Himalayas then you know what I mean. That doesn't prove anything. I still know that if I have to do that kind of riding for weeks and months together, the bike AND me will more than just miss a beat.

@CommanderKairu You're the classic example of the guy who doesn't "get it". This bike is the same kind of bike as the VStrom, R1200GS, and Multistrada. They are made to go off road, not just dirt and gravel roads. You need to watch some more videos of these adventure bikes to see what they are intended for.

@UltraSWG By off roading I was talking about dirt paths / unpaved roads. Not out in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure neither of these bikes were made to do that. If I were going to do that I would just buy a dirt bike.

@usart2008 I've done 7-800 mile days for 6 1/2 weeks straight with just 4 days off that whole time with plenty of dirt track roads and most of it on pretty appalling roads and the hornet didn't miss a beat. It was also a hell of a lot comfier than other bikes I've done long distances on (inc. RG12). ADV looks awesome - great to see people using their bikes as the manufacturers intended but my point was that most people don't and any pretty much bike can be used with the right frame of mind.

@Flipout360 maybe you would want to check out ADV to see people making FULL use of their machines. A group of subtle and friendly folks travelling the world. Its funny when someone says "will stick to my 14r" comparing it to a super tourer.

@Flipout360 I've done 700-800miles on a 200cc motorcycle. I would love to do a 800mile trip on a 14 or a Hornet. I'm not talking about 700-800 miles. I am talking about days and weeks and months of travelling. Lets see a 14 or a Hornet hold up to bad/no roads for 1000s of miles together and then lets see your back hold up.There is a reason why these bikes are made the way they are. Kawasaki makes the brilliant KLR for a reason. Respect the purpose.
